The Westmead Redevelopment team paid a visit to Parramatta’s bustling farmer’s market last week for an exciting pop-up event. The Westmead Redevelopment project team joined a booth with teams from Sydney Metro and Parramatta Light Rail

The Westmead Redevelopment purple bags, containing information about the project, were a smash hit at the event. There were queues to chat to the project team and to view artist’s impressions of the new hospital building, set to open in 2020.

Westmead Redevelopment’s director of communications and engagement Emma Spillett said: “all our pop-ups are a great opportunity to catch up with community members, share information about our project and join our friends from these two exciting transport projects.

“A huge number of the visitors to the latest event booth had heard about the Westmead Redevelopment in the news or had seen the work going on. We were visited by local residents, past and current staff and students, as well as people who were just passing by and wanted to know more.”

Young visitors to the booth were particularly interested in upcoming opportunities for work and study at the Westmead precinct. The University of Sydney are occupying one and a half floors of the new hospital building, and there was particular interest in this investment.

Emma said: “many more pop-ups are planned, both at Westmead precinct and in Parramatta CBD. We will continue to update our website as we lock in new dates and we look forward to chatting to more of our community members.”
