Chinese visitors view Westmead construction site

A delegation from Binzhou Medical University Hospital got an up-close view of the Westmead Redevelopment construction site on July 31 as part of their visit to Westmead Hospital.

Binzhou Medical University Hospital deputy president Qingmin Fang, director of geriatrics Quingtan Zhang, director of paediatrics Fuling Wu, director of quality control office Guozi Deng and deputy director Baohe Zhao viewed the central acute services building construction site from the temporary linkway before touring the state-of-the-art facilities in the Westmead Education and Conference Centre.

Western Sydney Local Health District director of strategy and business Stefan Perkovic also presented to the group, providing an update on progress of the Westmead Redevelopment project and Westmead master plan.

Westmead Hospital and Binzhou Medical University Hospital have had a long-standing relationship, following the signing of a co-operation agreement in 2011.

From 2015 to 2017, several groups of clinicians from the Chinese hospital have undertaken clinical observer ships at Westmead across a range of specialties.

The delegation were also given a presentation on hospital management at Western Sydney Local Health District before gifts were exchanged with the hospital executive.
