University Clinics entrance closes for works in January
SHARE

The University Clinics entrance (outlined in red) will close from January 3.

The entrance to the University Clinics will be closed for a month early in the new year.

Vehicle and pedestrian access to the entrance will be prevented from Thursday, January 3 to Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Services inside the University Clinics will remain open but will only be accessible from Westmead Hospital’s main entrance and Westmead's Centre for Oral Health entrance. Assistance will be available at the main hospital entrance for patients who may need it.

Services affected by the closure include:

  • The patient discharge unit/transit lounge

  • Outpatient pharmacy

  • Pre-admission clinic

  • Day Surgery Unit (DSU)

  • Endoscopy

The temporary link-way, between Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, will remain open during this period so access is still available from this route.

Patients and visitors coming from the Westmead Centre for Oral Health front entrance will need to go from level 1 to level 2 via the lift or stairs to access the University Clinics.

Access to Car Park 4 will be open during the work.

Signage will be in place to assist.

The works at the University Clinics entrance are part of the Westmead Redevelopment project’s new hospital building, expected to be completed in 2020.

The entrance will re-open on Monday, February 4.

Please see the map indicating alternate hospital entrances and access routes.
