Planning new hospital facilities involves hundreds of staff meeting regularly in Project User Groups (PUGs).
Every unit has a group which includes doctors, nurses, allied health staff, support staff and planners, who meet regularly to develop a brief for the unit - a brief which is provided to the architects to design that facility.
Every unit is purpose-built for the type of care that is being delivered in that unit, so the user groups are critically important.
