While Westmead Hospital Library is temporarily closed for refurbishment, our librarians are offering a ‘roaming librarian’ service.
Library manager Linda Mulheron said: “our goals for the new library are to improve customer service and build connections – for example, between university students and hospital staff.
“One way we are doing this is by trialling ‘roaming librarians’.
An efficient technology solution is being rolled out so that librarians can support students and staff in education, training and research where they are, with access to the library’s vast electronic collection at their fingertips.
“The idea is to integrate and embed our services where our customers are, to offer a more personalised and relevant experience,” said Linda.
Roaming librarians can come to an in-service, arrange a training session tailored to your health specialty, provide assistance with Endnote, consult and support your research with literature reviews and more.

Westmead Hospital Library is being upgraded by the University of Sydney, in partnership with Western Sydney Local Health District, as part of the Westmead Redevelopment.
The fresh new space will be an engaging learning and teaching environment, offering technology-enabled individual and group study spaces, purpose-built rooms for student and medical staff examinations and bookable meeting rooms.
