Westmead motorists alerted to Darcy Road traffic changes

Traffic changes have been made on Darcy Road at Westmead.

When heading north-west on Darcy Road (with Westmead Hospital on your right), motorists can no longer turn right into Institute Road. This change was a requirement of the Road and Maritime Services (RMS) to free up traffic congestion and ensure better phasing (green light time) of traffic signals.

Motorists wishing to access the multi-storey carpark, can use the entry on Darcy Road. When travelling north-west on Darcy Road, turn right at the set of lights before Institute Road (existing Westmead Dental access). This is indicated by the photo above and map below.

Motorists can continue to access the staff car parking (P11, P12 and P13) via Dragonfly Drive. This is also highlighted on the map below.

A slip lane has also been opened on Darcy Road. This left turning lane has been constructed for motorists turning into Mons Road and will also assist in alleviating traffic congestion at the intersection.

With a rapidly growing population in western Sydney and beyond, it is important to monitor traffic conditions and modify your routes to support the growing influx of cars, trucks and buses.

Motorists are asked to obey the new road rules and conditions for their own safety.
