Wake up and help shape westmead's new future

Want to have your say about some of the most important equipment to go into the new Westmead hospital? Well here’s your chance to sit down, stretch out and lounge around for the best of reasons.

We’re after your thoughts about patients’ beds and recliners, trauma trolley beds, and carers’ lounges for the new Central Acute Services Building.

The Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Open Days at the prototype rooms on Tuesday-Wednesday 6-7th August welcome the entire precinct family - doctors, nurses, cleaners, manual handlers, wards staff, volunteers, community, carers and visitors.

Everyone who visits will be welcome to put their feet up and trial the furniture before filling out a survey to gauge their thoughts on comfort, durability, fit-for-purpose and function.

Westmead Redevelopment Project Director of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment Leanne Creighton said the two-day display provided a unique opportunity to put the products to the test.

“It’s your chance to have your say and help shape our future direction,” Leanne said.

“The open days offer everyone a chance to have input into their building. Your opinion matters and your vote will count.”

The event in the prototype rooms on Dragonfly Drive (the large grey shed next to Redbank House) runs from 10am-3pm both days.
