Michelle, Halina and Shalini share their career observations with us for International Women's Day

This Wednesday, 8 March is International Women’s Day. It’s a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The Westmead Redevelopment project update edition 101 is a special issue focusing on some of the accomplishments of women working at Westmead. We've interviewed three women who have reflected on their work, career and the importance of the campaign.

Click on below names to go to the full story on three of women we've interviewed.

  • Michelle Englert - A civil engineer, turned construction project manager at PwC, discusses her career working in a male-dominated field and what she finds exciting about her role
  • Halina Nagiello - A senior health service planner at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, chats about her career path, mentors and the importance of having a passion for what you do
  • Shalini Balram - A team leader in geriatric medicine at Westmead Hospital, discusses an exciting pilot sending older patients home form the Emergency Department sooner which was part of a leadership program

This year’s campaign theme is #BeBoldForChange. We encourage everyone to visit the International Women’s Day website here at www.internationalwomensday.com to learn about how you can get involved in forging a better working world.
