Following the recent completion of Kids Research, and the ongoing construction of the close observation unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, contractors FDC were excited to meet some of the patients and families in the lead up to Easter.

Armed with a trolley load of fluffy bunnies they visited the Grace Centre for Newborn Care, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and two other in patient wards. There were a lot of smiles on faces as the children came face to face with the Easter Bunny, many for the first time.

Debra Fowler from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead said that at this time of year these visits make a huge difference to patients and families.

“Knowing that a stranger has taken the time to buy them a gift and bring it to their child, many of which are celebrating their first ever Easter, makes an immense difference to these families. This random act of kindness from FDC made a lot of people happy today,” said Ms Fowler.
