Parking zones on both sides of Hawkesbury Road between Jessie Street and Darcy Road will be permanently removed from late May to accommodate the future Parramatta Light Rail.

Parking zones will be relocated to nearby streets where possible.

The following zones will be removed:

•             Accessible parking outside Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead;

•             Two-hour parking outside The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) and opposite Westmead Emergency Department;

•             Unrestricted parking opposite Westmead Hospital and The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR).

Signage will be in place to inform of the parking removals and relocations.

The Parramatta Light Rail team will host three community pop-ups at 175 One Hotels and Apartments, 175 Hawkesbury Road, Westmead, this month to discuss these latest steps and provide updates and information about the project:

Wednesday 15 May, from 12-4pm

Wednesday 22 May, from 12-4pm

Sunday 26 May, from 9am-1pm

Parramatta Light Rail is one of the NSW Government’s major public transport projects, part of a record $89.7 billion infrastructure investment across the state.

Stage 1 of Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, and is expected to open in 2023.
