Arts and Culture Strategy Update

Westmead Redevelopment’s Arts and Culture Strategy workshops continued last week with origami master Yoshimi Lawler visiting Westmead to show participants how to fold paper cranes and lotus flowers while chatting about their arts and culture vision.

The University of Sydney has introduced Sydney Concepts at Westmead, a series of conversations between the university and Westmead precinct staff, students, researchers and practitioners. The series aims to foster knowledge sharing and collaborative opportunities, with an emphasis on innovative approaches.

Arts and Culture Strategy workshops

Westmead Redevelopment’s Arts and Culture Strategy development continues with ongoing community workshops. Newly arrived migrant families, who are members of parenting groups, have drawn their suggestions while an ‘origami master’ has inspired patients and families at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Flowers to celebrate A3a handover

Last week Lucia Labib, the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) of Westmead Hospital’s gastroenterology ward, was presented with flowers. This kind gift was from the A3a refurbishment construction team and followed the ‘handover’ inspection.

A traditional Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony has marked the start of construction of Westmead’s new central acute services building.

Westmead Father's Day Event

The Children’s Hospital at Westmead’s inaugural Father’s Day was held last week. Representatives from the Westmead Redevelopment and Multiplex visited children to deliver gifts and participate in fun activities for the day including Father’s Day tie making, ceramics painting and face painting.
