The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network launched its Kids’ War on Waste last week and the Westmead Redevelopment project was on-hand to share the sustainability message, with its range of water bottles and Keep Cups.

Across the week, staff, patients and families were treated to viewings of the ABC’s War on Waste season 2 premiere, fashion parades in the Starlight Express room using “recycled fashion”, waste and recycling education sessions and a network-wide recycling quiz.

The week’s activities were about educating staff, patients and families on the huge amount of waste hospitals generate each year and how we can all play a role in making a change.

On-hand to reinforce the message were junior Waste Warriors from The Children’s Hospital School - Ruby, Oliver and Charlie. Check out what they had to say about the role we all play in reducing waste in our hospitals.
