Important traffic changes affecting entering and exiting Westmead Hospital are now in place.
These temporary changes are to allow for the construction of a new retaining wall and services relocation work near the corner of the Emergency Department (ED) driveway and Hawkesbury Road.
Until November, these changes include:
• The internal loop at the hospital’s main entry will be one way.
• The ED access road into the hospital for emergency vehicles and members of the public entering from Hawkesbury Road will be one way and entry only.
• Access out of the ED and hospital will be via Darcy Road.
• There is no change to access into Carpark 4 and Carpark 3.
Motorists are asked to follow the new line markings and signage.
Traffic flow will be monitored and managed by traffic controllers now in place from 7am-7pm.
More information will be provided when work is nearing completion.
