Come work out west!

The team at last week's Careers Expo

Last week, representatives from the Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospital Expansion and the Westmead Redevelopment project attended the 2018 Western Sydney Careers Expo to promote the new Work Out West campaign.

With five major hospitals, several community health centres, research and education facilities and more than $2 billion of expansion underway, Western Sydney Local Health District will have many jobs available in the coming years.

Our representatives were on-hand to talk to high school students, TAFE students and the community about career paths available across the WSLHD.

Positions available will include:

  • Allied Health, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, radiographers and dietitians
  • Research and education roles
  • General services, including cleaners, porters and maintenance staff
  • Doctors, nurses, midwives and senior medical officers

If you or someone you know might be interested in a career with the WSLHD, there's a few things you can do:

  • Regularly check our website for more information about upcoming jobs and register your interest in the contact us section.
  • Most jobs will be coming up from 2019 – 2020; so if there is something you are interested in, we can tell you what qualifications you may need to start training now!
  • We have tips for high school students, university students, and qualified professionals to help plan a health career.
  • We'll be keeping you up-to-date with job opportunities that might suit you. So keep an eye out!
  • Closer to the time, we will be offering support sessions to help you apply for government jobs (there’s a special system but we have all the tips for success).
