Staff across the Westmead precinct were encouraged to ditch their cars in favour of public transport as part of the inaugural Ride & Stride Week (October 10 – 14).
The week, which is an initiative of Western Sydney Local Health District, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the Westmead Redevelopment team, aimed to encourage hospital staff who drive to work to consider alternative transport options including trains, buses and cycling.
As part of the week, staff were invited to participate in Ride2Work Day (October 12), trial local public transport options or drive part of the way to the campus and ride or stride the rest of the journey.
Representatives from Transport for NSW and Parramatta Light Rail visiedt the precinct during the week to talk to staff about current and future public transport arrangements.
