The Children's Hospital at Westmead helipad

The new helipad at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead became operational on Wednesday 24 May 2017. The roof level of the Hainsworth Street visitors’ car park also re-opened after it was closed for construction of the helipad last year.

Test flights were conducted as part of the commissioning process and this included a live simulation of a Neonatal and paediatric Emergency Transport (NETS) arrival.

This will be the primary helipad for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead until the central acute services building is completed in 2020.

"The new helipad is very impressive. It is crucial to our continued delivery of healthcare to some of the sickest babies and children from across New South Wales,” said Tim Hoffmann, Director of Clinical Planning and Redesign for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.
