An important part of the Westmead Redevelopment is developing a transport solution that makes Westmead more workable, livable and accessible.
Throughout 2015 a comprehensive review of transport options was undertaken across the precinct and the region.
A range of future transport solutions are being analysed against the needs of the Westmead precinct including the Western Sydney light rail, City of Parramatta’s proposed Western Sydney Regional Ring Road, cross-regional bus routes to strengthen the reach of public transport as well as improvements to the walking and cycling networks with a focus on connecting the precinct with the Westmead train station and Parramatta CBD.
A local, long term solution for the car parking at Westmead is being sought to reduce the need to park onsite and increasing the use of public transport.
In February 2017, Parramatta Light Rail announced routes. Watch the video below for a summary of their announcement and news.
