Refurbishment

Over 30 per cent of clinical areas at Westmead Hospital will be refurbished through the Westmead Redevelopment between 2017 and 2022.

The areas of Westmead Hospital to be refurbished include:

  • Ambulatory Care
  • Gastroenterology
  • Aged Care
  • Respiratory
  • Intensive Care
  • Existing operating theatres

The first clinical areas to be refurbished are A3a (which opened in October 2017) and B6.

Some non-clinical areas will also be refurbished to support the healthcare of Western Sydney Local Health District, Westmead Education and Conference Centre (WECC) and the first non-clinical new ways of working space on level 3 of the Oral Health building.
