In March 2019, the NSW Government announced $619 million for Stage 2 of the Westmead Redevelopment project, which will include a new Paediatric Services Building and car parking for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (pictured above).

The new Paediatric Services Building, in addition to the Central Acute Services Building currently under construction as part of Stage 1 of the Westmead Redevelopment project, are part of an expansion of children’s health services at Westmead.

The Paediatric Services Building is expected to feature an expansion of acute paediatric services including Operating Theatres, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cancer services, Pharmacy Department, Pathology and Mental Health services.

This investment will greatly increase capacity at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, delivering new and expanded health services for our State’s sickest children.

We are currently in the master planning stage of the project. If you would like to be involved in planning for the future of sick children, please contact us at SCHN-Plan@health.nsw.gov.au
