A corridor of IPU B6 during the site preparation phase. This area was previously occupied by finance, procurement and clinical governance. Before this it was a operational ward.

The refurbishment of Westmead Hospital’s IPU B6 started in August 2017 and is expected to be completed in April 2018. IPU B6 will be reinstated as an inpatient unit.

PechaKucha is a presentation on style that challenges the presenter to make a very short presentation using 20 images each for 20 seconds. An event on 5 October 2017 invited western Sydney artists to hear inspiring presentations, including an overview of the Westmead Redevelopment’s Arts and Culture Strategy development.

Westmead Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead are major teaching hospitals of the University of Sydney. Teaching hospitals have always shared space with universities. What sets the Westmead Redevelopment’s WECC refurbishment apart is that in designing a shared space, partners across the Westmead precinct had an opportunity to consider what is important when it comes to the future of education, training and research at Westmead.
